Space Weather Dot Com A very accessible and easy to understand web site about all kinds of space weather plus tips on stargazing and viewing other objects in the heavens, including the International Space Station and aurora borealis (northern lights). Have you ever seen a sun dog or the belt of Venus? It reports major solar flares and coronal mass ejections and gives a 48 hour space weather outlook that includes the probablilities of major flares and geomagnetic storms. This web site is by Dr. Tony Phillips.
Today's Space Weather NOAA's Space Environment Center space weather page. The content of this page is somewhat technical. Includes graphs of solar activity and a 3 day space weather outlook. This is the web wolf's favorite space weather oracle.
The SEC's Radio Users' Page Get access to all sorts of space weather reports and summaries from this page.
D Layer Absorption Prediction This page is important only during the daytime or if you're trying to work into a daylit area of the world. The D-layer is not present in dark areas of the world. When it's blasted by a solar flare, it blacks out higher frequency bands in daylit parts of the world starting with the highest frequencies first. Extreme flares can wipe out the whole of the HF spectrum.
The Auroral Oval In The Northern Hemisphere A map of the aurora over the northern hemisphere. Geomagnetic storms can produce aurorae which are visible in the lower 48 states.
The Propagation Page Data about the ionosphere from multiple sources. The author of this page provides partial interpretations of the data you're viewing. This page will load slowly if you're on a dial up.
K7RA's Propagation Bulletins Tad's bulletin is published every Friday morning on the ARRL web site. This link takes you to the index of all of the bulletins.
